We prioritize the privacy of your sensitive ritual and mood data, and will never use your information in ways that are not clearly outlined in this document. By using Olfactory Calendar, you agree to the terms listed below.
What Information We Collect
We only collect data necessary to deliver and improve your aromatherapy tracking experience:
- Voluntarily submitted ritual data: All entries you log including scent profiles (ingredients, brands, custom tags), burn duration of candles/diffusers, diffusion strength settings, mood state ratings, session notes, and custom calendar labels you create.
- Account information (optional): If you register for a synced account, we collect your email address and chosen display name. You can use all core features fully offline without creating an account, in which case no account data is collected.
- Support correspondence: If you reach out to Eessu for help, feedback, or inquiries, we store the content of your messages, contact information you provide, and our responses to resolve your request.
- Anonymous usage data: Aggregated, de-identified data about app interactions (feature usage frequency, crash reports, performance metrics) that cannot be linked to you individually, used only to fix bugs and optimize functionality.
How We Use Your Information
- Deliver core functionality: Store your aromatherapy logs, generate your personalized olfactory calendar, run habit analytics, and provide you with optional insights like scent-mood correlation patterns.
- Personalize your experience: Recommend scent suggestions based on your past usage and mood patterns if you enable this feature. You can turn off personalized recommendations at any time in settings.
- Improve our service: Use aggregated usage data to prioritize feature updates, fix usability issues, and optimize the app for different devices and use cases.
- Communicate with you: Send important service updates (security alerts, policy changes), respond to support requests, and share optional product news if you opt in to marketing communications.
- Meet legal obligations: Comply with applicable legal requirements, respond to valid legal requests, and protect our rights, property, and the safety of our users and the public.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
We will never sell, rent, or license your personal ritual or mood data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We only share your information in the following limited circumstances:

You retain full ownership of all data you input into Olfactory Calendar. You can exercise the following rights at any time via your app settings or by contacting us directly:
- Access and view all personal data we have stored about you, including your full aromatherapy log history.
- Export all of your data in a machine-readable format that you can transfer to another service.
- Edit, correct, or update any of your personal information or ritual logs.
- Delete individual log entries, or permanently delete all of your personal data from our systems.
- Opt out of non-essential communications, such as marketing emails or product update notifications.
- Disable cross-device syncing, so all of your data is only stored locally on your personal device and never transmitted to our servers.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction:
- All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3 encryption.
- All stored personal data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
